Meals Are Tasty, Healthy & Social

Mealtimes are important events in the typical Seasons day. For our residents, it is a chance to enjoy a variety of tasty foods and satisfy their appetite.

These gatherings also provide opportunities to converse and mingle with friends and family. For residents who are not very social, they still benefit from being amid the chatter and camaraderie. The meals also provide comfort to those who desire consistency in their daily routine.

The Staff Is Involved In Many Ways

Mealtimes are very active for our staff members. Of course, there is the preparation, the serving and the clean up. However, there is a lot more going on while our residents are pleasing their palates, often with foods and recipes that reflect the era they grew up in.

  • Our staff strives to make everyone happy, even with all the different taste preferences in the dining room. They tackle this monumental challenge with energy, creativity, talent and compassion. They also talk to the residents so they can continually fine-tune our fabulous dining experience to their liking.
  • Our staff (and family members, too) helps those residents who have difficulty using utensils and/or need encouragement to eat the foods necessary for maintaining one’s health. We also feed some residents in our Autumn Years dementia program.
  • Our staff (and family members, too), looks for changes from day to day, meal to meal. Has appetite increased? Decreased? Is someone not eating at all?
  • Our staff designs and prepares meals for residents with special diets, such as low salt and diabetic.
  • Our staff encourages the residents to interact with one another, and themselves, during mealtime.

By being so diligent during mealtimes, we feel we make the dining process more productive, more rewarding, more social and more enjoyable.

Bon Appetite!!!
